Mr. Sha’ar has served as general manager and director for full-service properties and assistant director of operations and marketing for others. He has 20 years experience in the hospitality and event management industry across the board.
Akram currently renders advisory services to various sectors in the industry to players in Jordan, KSA, UAE, Iraq, Egypt and Algeria.
In his career, he joined the Inter Continental hotels and resorts GSA office and moved later on to be the director of sales and marketing for Movenpick resorts in Jordan, then he moved to lead the business development and sales efforts of Inter Continental hotels in AlMadinah AlMunawwarah. As the director of business development for Elaf travel and tourism, KSA, Akram has to oversee operations for Elaf in Morocco, Egypt and the UK, in addition to Saudi Arabia. His career has taken him to the position of business development director for Jeddah Hilton and Qasr Alsharq (waldorf Astoria) and then to do the same for the first ruffles hotel in Dubai.
As chief executive officer of Green Hotel Management, Mr Sha’ar has a keen eye for detail, overseeing all full and limited-service properties. In his 17 years in the hospitality industry, Mr. Sha’ar has worked in all levels of hotel management, giving him the skills he needs to effectively supervise multiple properties.
As Regional Director of Operations, Akram's primary responsibilities are to oversee the daily operations of multiple hotels and resorts throughout the region. He is an active member of the Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals, as well as working on internal auditing and group purchasing for the company.
Hotel management has always been a hands-on experience Akram. His food, beverage and sales background, along with extensive knowledge of the hospitality industry, bring a unique perspective to his position as Regional Director of Operations.
Akram has assisted with successfully opening numerous hotels and creating a centralized reservation office to support multiple lodging operations in the Region.
